Pop. 1,060. In Lobo T., Middlesex C., on C. Rd. 16, 16 km W of London.
The community was settled in the 1830s by Scottish families, most from the Campbell clan.
The post office was established in 1853 as Lobo Station, but in 1856 the name was changed to Komoka, a First Nations Peoples word believed to mean 'place where the dead lie.'

In the early 1960s, the grade 6 to 8 students at SS. No. 1 Lobo elementary school, a three room school in Komoka, produced maple syrup in a sugar shack located on the school property under the able direction of the principal, Mrs. Coulter. Maple trees in the village and surrounding countryside were tapped and the sap was collected with the volunteer assistance of Mr. Bill Scoyns and his trusty pick-up. The syrup was sold across Canada and the proceeds were used for a school trip to places such as the Detroit Zoo. The process was a unique learning opportunity in responsibility and business for the students. The activity ended with the closing of the school and construction of the Parkview regional school at a new location in town.
