Pop. 130. In Durham Reg. on Hwy 7 & 12 and C. Rd. 21, 26 km. NW of Whitby. The place was originally known as Fitchetts Corners. In 1852 it was renamed, likely after the city in England, although the origin of the place name has not been recorded.
