Pop. 1,082. In the Reg. Mun. of Durham on the Beaverton R and Hwy 7 & 12 and C. Rd. 10, 85 km NE of Toronto.
In 1836 the post office opened as Brock, the name of the township in which the place was then located In the 1860s the place was called Jones' Corner or Jones Corners, but in 1868 the name was changed to Sunderland after a town in Durham County, England.
